I learned about the BDS movement through the Rana Plaza accident back in 2013. This comic was made for Chimera/Live Mint’s Big Picture in response to it.

The BDS movement is there to pressure Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, and provide full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel.

The garment industry disaster led to a bunch of listicle sites that red flagged companies violating labour and environmental laws. But BDS was doing this form of consumer boycott strategy way back. Many of these listed companies are terrible places to work in, and actively harm the environment.
