Memory Walk

Bethnal Green Nature Reserve

Wandered into this hidden urban forest on the site of a former church destroyed during WWII. It’s a nice little walk from the Museum of Childhood nearby

I remember visiting it a decade ago and having a chat with Gabby Boraston who told me about the history of the plants here, often dismissed a “weeds” that she fosters.

This place influenced my Dandelion Postcards project -notes sent to friends far away and calculating the distance between us through glitter.

Out of which this one is my favourite- travelled 4695 miles. The Indian postal worker had very good registration game- added another “dandelion” to my drawing
