One of my first sports themed children’s book projects! Modelled one of the characters- Faizya-on Nagpada basketball team’s Sumaiya Karim and ofc Slam Dunk! the manga.

Because of the tight deadline I tried to alternate the detailed sports pages with a more emoticon approach like in manga or anime but realised it doesn’t carry the inertia of two separate styles within limited set of illustrations of a book. Instead I worked with bright, flat colours and very little atmospheric rendering
